- I am getting an error message from Winsock: "modem not responding to atz
- command ". It happens if I close the comm application, then try to estart
- it in the same windows session.
- It happens in winsock , and happens in delrina Wincom , so i am assuming
- its not something WITHIN a particular comm application.....
- I have to restart windows (windows for workgroups 3.11) to solve the
- problem each time....I DON'T have to reboot , though.

- The problem started recently...

- Could it be caused by recent installation of :
- 1) new apps....
- 2) new soundblaster vibra 16 soundcard
- 3) installation of new logitech trackball and software,
- and then reverting to use of microsoft mouse and driver
- 4) changing version of new beta winsock ?
- 5) changing back to previous version of winsock?
- 6)changing to new beta version of netscape ?
- (and then back to current version?)

- I would guess its something in one of the windows ini files ; or similar
- files...
- I checked all hardware connections.
- I reseated the modem card.
- i did NOT change any settings on the card....
